What does 1HP mean?

1HP (1 horsepower) is the power of the chiller. It essentially represents how quickly it can chill the water to the desired temperature.

Here's two things to consider:

1. In Australia we have hot summers, anything less than 1HP will struggle to cool water down in the heat, or if it does, it'll take much longer.

2. The longer you have to run the chiller for, the more wear and tear on the motor. A lower power chiller will burn out much quicker than a more powerful chiller.

Reaping the Rewards

When using your ice bath, we want you to reap the most benefit. We recommend 11-13 minutes of cold exposure therapy each week - that's either 3 x 4 minute sessions or less than 2 minutes a day! You will get benefits from water less than 15 degrees celsius, which is generally the temperature of cold tap water.

Maintenance

Clean out the filter weekly or fortnightly depending on how much the ice bath is used.

How long does it take to get cool?

The initial cooling period can take approx. 2-4 hours depending on the temp of the water, room temp and set up location.

Once the water has reached the desired temp it will generally only take an hour or so of running the chiller daily to keep the water cool.

Note that the chiller needs to be run regularly to keep the water clean and fresh.

Is it loud?

The chiller is really quiet when running and only makes noise when the water is cooling. Once it hits the desired temperature, the water will continue to filter and clean quietly.
